SHOK PARIS Confirmed For Greece's UP THE HAMMERS Festival

March 30, 2011

Cleveland, Ohio metallers SHOK PARIS will headline the first night of the Up The Hammers VII festival, set to take place March 2-3, 2012 at the An Club in Athens, Greece.

"This is great news!" says SHOK PARIS vocalist Vic Hix. "We have great fans there. Just partying with them in Germany at the Headbangers Open Air festival last year blew me away! They really know how to rock. We are headed for a real good time. I say we change the band name to 'Shok Athens'! What do ya say?"

The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

SHOK PARIS (USA)
METAL INQUISITOR (GER)
HOLY MARTYR (ITY)
SORROWS PATH (GRE)
LETHAL SAINT (CYP)

SHOK PARIS will be the first band from the Auburn Records label roster to perform in Greece.

"I am very excited about finally having the opportunity to bring one of my bands to Greece," says Auburn Records president Bill Peters. "It's been long overdue! Greece is well-known for having some of the most dedicated and passionate underground heavy metal fans in the world. These fans have been very supportive to my label and bands over the years. We are honored to play for them. Thanks to festival organizer Manolis Karazeris for making this happen.

"In addition to having a brand new SHOK PARIS studio album, we will be announcing something soon that will make this first show in Greece even more unique and special for the fans."

This will be SHOK PARIS' third trip overseas. The band performed in Germany at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in 2004 and Headbangers Open Air festival in 2010. Their 2010 visit also included a German club tour with labelmates ETERNAL LEGACY.

SHOK PARIS continues writing new material and will begin recording a new studio album for Auburn later this year.
